
No, that’s not me. It can’t be me. It may use to be me. But that’s not me. Well, it might be me, at least a more contemporary me. After all, memory loss, convenient or otherwise, may reconfigure notions of what was me. A wishful reworked plethora of alternative facts. But really, cognitive biases and all, that just plain isn’t me. At least, not the old me. You see, there’s been a lot of “Me’s”. Too many to recollect. But I do know this: the me of the moment is just the latest rendition of 75+ years of me. I’m of age, a free to be me age. Not the professional me of the past, just me. Yup, the guy in the pic is probably me, or at the very least, a reasonable facsimile. He and Me will be just a little different tomorrow.
“Dubito, ergo cogito, ergo sum.”
